Telecom Fiji

Telecom has erected a tower Koro Seaview Estates in November, 05 to enable most blocks to have access to international communications, phone, fax, and email and internet. The tower works on line of sight. Public access to the internet is available at Dere Bay Resort and Koro Beach Resort public phones. Prepaid internet cards can be purchased and the software installed in your computer to access the internet.

Vodafone (mobiles)

Mobile phones are available in Suva and work in Koro on the ridge facing Wakaya Island Aerial and also at Dere Bay Resort and Tulani
It is better to setup an account with Vodafone rather than use the cards.(cards run out and cannort be purchased on the island.) There are mobiles available that can send and receive email either on their own or just with a laptop. Contact Vodafone in Suva for details.
Vodafone mobiles can be rented at Nadi International Airport at a shop just outside customs and immigration exit.

Public Phones on Koro

There is now a public phone at Dere Bay Resort and Koro Beach Resort - you can buy the prepaid cards at Dere Bay Resort.
There are public phones in the nearby villages of Tavua and Navaga where phone cards for these phones can be purchased in the village shops. You can ring to overseas numbers from these phones as any public phone in Suva.

Iridium Phone

Iridium phones can be bought in your home country and used anywhere on Koro.

Short Wave Radio

Bring your own short wave radio to the island if you want to keep in touch with BBC Radio, Radio Australia, etc.
